Community Notes Feed

Community Notes are short, factual notes added by Omni Games members to a game group. They record details that aren't already shown on the title's own pages, such as differences between regional releases, known dump or revision issues, or release trivia.

Each note applies either to every title in the group or to the specific titles listed under Applies to. Click a note to open that group's overview.

The game is an explicit crossover/parody combining the Alex Kidd universe with Sega’s Shinobi franchise. Alex gains ninja abilities, wields a katana, throws shuriken, transforms into a fireball, and fights cartoonish versions of classic Shinobi bosses.

The game was originally released in Japan in 1987 as Anmitsu Hime (based on a popular manga/anime about a spoiled samurai princess). For its 1989 Western release, Sega replaced the character sprites and modified the dialogue to star Alex Kidd, slapping the franchise name onto a completely unrelated title.

The final boss encounter against the Martian Mothership (Rugname) directly parodies the climax of the 1996 film Independence Day. A Rebel soldier sacrifices himself by flying his plane into the alien ship's laser cannon port to open a weak point for the player.
